Simply one of the best in Chinatown. The dinner for two is an incredible value. Service is fast and friendly, space is super clean, drinks are cheap. Do yourself a favour and order the chicken wings with spicy salt: best I’ve had.
Visited New Ho King in Chinatown, Toronto for the first time as a New Yorker. The menu was too big and overwhelming I didn’t jack it that much. The vibe was nice simple, open layout, and a comfortable space. Bunch of celebrities have dined here like Drake and Kendrick. the hype is real, but personally I find it overrated. Service was decent, and overall it’s a decent spot if you’re in the area. Great price for the portion sizes. Appetizers 201 spring roll The spring roll was great big portion and crunchy. Only reason it’s not a 5/5 is the filling could’ve had a bit more flavor. Still really good. I rate it 4/5 213 Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab with Spicy Salt The soft shell crab was crispy, tender, and with a kick of spic. Crab was gass. The deep-fried vermicelli was bland no flavor at all, but the texture paired with the crab works well. Solid appetizer. I rate it 4/5 Entrees 7 Curry beef brisket The curry beef brisket was insanely tender melts in ur mouth, full of flavor, and absolutely gas. Enjoy it with a cup of rice or noodles as an entrée. I rate it 4.5/5 623 Szechuan beef The Szechuan beef was really good tender, spicy, and full of flavor. I just wish it was a little crispier. Solid sauce with a little kick to it. Meshes really well with the beef. Still a solid dish I’d order again. I rate it 4/5 820 General Tso Chicken lo mein The General Tso Chicken with lo mein was disappointing. The chicken was tough, the noodles were bland, and the sauce was way too sweet reminded me of BBQ. Wouldn’t order again. I rate it 2/5
Great chinese food. Consistent. They're fine with making minor tweaks to each dish. They're deep fried Chicken has the same quality as FKC/deep fried pressure cooker but with way more/better flavor. Hong Shing used to be my favourite spot but they majorly raised there prices so I looked for a new spot. I wish I knew about New Ho King years ago because they're better than Hong Shing. The Chili Chicken dry(less chilli/salt) is amazing. Super good if you don't know what you like/what to get or have a picky eater, if you like Chicken with Flavor then you'll love this, if someone says they don't like it then they're obviously having a bad day or so mad at you that food won't help. If she so mad /hangry that (this) food won't make her happy then you better pray double hard tonight because she's REALLY pissed and you probably only have 3 days left until she's gone and Jesus is the only way you gonna get help now The Shanghai Noodles are the best. Thick noodles with sliced thin pork, cabbage, shrimp, Chicken and a few other green things thrown in. I can't eat much garlic or onion due to heartburn but I can eat the food from New Ho King no problem. $50 feeds to guys with one huge meal left over. 1 dry chili chicken 1 Shanghai noodles
Came for the fried rice with the dip sauce. The portions are really good, the bbq pork was delicious and horseradish sauce really opens up your sinuses.
